Charlotte's learning to fly!!

Our resident merchandise advisor has decided to take up a new hobby and that is learning to fly.

Hi there guys I'm Charlotte, some of you may already know me or have met me at the dealership, but for those of you who dont know me my new hobby is learning to fly.

I got into flying because my father owns an aircraft maintenance company and i grew up on an airfield. I was going to learn to fly when i was younger but I didnt get round to doing it with school and other commitments, however the Civil Aviation Authority brought out a new rule last year which meant that students could learn to fly from unlicensed airfields which gave me an opportunity to learn directly from where i grew up.

My first lesson was aircraft familiarisation, which basically means how to carry out pre flight checks. The first time i went up my legs were shaking because I was so nervous, once i had settled i was  loving it, and here i am now half way to completing my pilots licence.

The last lesson i had i was flying for four hours. After two hours my instructor crazily thought i was ready to go off on my own, i had to go find another airfield. I could have kept going until I ran out of fuel , the sky was all mine, at least i thought it was. i could see for miles, then i had to go back and land until my next lesson.
